Goal

Based on future technologies that will be available in the near future, we developed an innovative concept. Especially the research aspect and scientific work played a major role in the development of Google Replica. With Google Replica, we want to help people with special knowledge and skills who want to preserve them by offering them a way to digitise their own personality with voice, appearance and spirit with the Google Ark, in order to preserve it for future generations.

Concept

Google Replica consists of the Google Ark and a platform/web application.
The Google Ark is equipped with microphone (voice scan, voice control), LiDAR scan combined with camera (biometric scan), speaker (auditory feedback), light ring (visual feedback through colour change) and an inductive charging platform (portability). It helps collect personal data (e.g. appearance, voice, etc.).
The Google Replica platform/web application, offers the possibility to search for digital replicas in different areas of life and to communicate and interact with them. It also allows users to keep track of their own data and manage it.

Database

Google Replica first uses Google data (search history, YouTube activity, app usage, etc.) and data from social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.). These help to get a first impression and create a profile of the user. The basic data is continuously updated with more precise data collected by the Ark. This includes voice scan (pitch, intonation, accents, etc.) and biometric scan. The more precise data will be collected at regular intervals from users through the use of the Ark to ensure the fidelity of the data.

Google Ark

The Google Ark is equipped with microphone (voice scan, voice control), LiDAR scan combined with camera (biometric scan), speaker (auditory feedback), light ring (visual feedback through colour change) and an inductive charging platform (portability). It helps to collect personal data (e.g. appearance, voice, etc.). The Ark was modelled and animated in Cinema4D.

Google Replica Platform

The Google Replica platform offers the possibility to search for digital replicas in different areas of life and to communicate and interact with them. It also allows users to keep track of their own data and manage it. Unreal’s MetaHuman Creator enabled us to generate replicas that were true to detail, even dynamic and capable of various movements. Based on our concept and taking into account the previously defined product language, we then designed our digital web application in Figma and finally prototyped it with Protopie.
